Some Leeds United fans have been praising the club’s manager Marcelo Bielsa recently.
News had emerged in late March that Leeds’ players and staff have taken a wage deferral because of the pandemic. The update also suggested that Bielsa and his players are set to ‘give up’ a part of their wages for what has been described as the ‘foreseeable’ future.
Can Bielsa be compared to Don Revie?
He deserves it
Too early to say!
A Leeds-related page called ‘Right In the Gary Kellys’ talked about this, comparing it to PL clubs and how they have been left to ‘tarnish’ their names. This left many Leeds fans raving about Bielsa and his act. They praised him and his commitment to the club.
And he’s sat in his flat above a shop in Wetherby all alone preparing for our restart.

The man is the closest we will ever get to Don Revie. He’s doing what the great Don did, creating the Leeds United family all over again. Get ready premier league and European because this giant has woken up in a very bad mood.
Pay back on its way. #ALAW #MOT

Leeds currently find themselves at the top of the Championship table and have a one-point lead over West Bromwich Albion. They had missed out on promotion last season, but it was an improvement on the 13th placed finish in the 2017-18 season.
This shows how far Leeds have come under Bielsa and the progress that they’ve made under the former Athletic Bilbao and Marseille manager. Promotion to the Premier League this season would be a cherry on the cake and it would give fans more reasons to love Bielsa.
