Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are eager to see what Garry Monk is going to do for their side in the summer window – providing he signs a new contract himself.
The Whites have had a good season but missed out on the play-offs after some poor form in the final few games.
The men from Elland Road, though, have still got plenty of positives to work with and our landlord reckons that with a few good signings the club will be able to kick on and earn promotion in 2017/18.
Who comes in, then, remains to be seen but it seems as though that the club have surprisingly offered Charlie Taylor a new contract.
The defender made it clear he wanted to leave after refusing to play against Wigan on the final day of the campaign but a new deal is on the table, if only to allow Leeds compensation if and when he leaves – as per Phil Hay on Twitter:
Charlie Taylor offered a new two-year deal – but purely to ensure that Leeds receive compensation. Club don’t expect him to sign it. #lufc
