Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-Premier League defender Alan Hutton has admitted that it is no surprise that Leeds United want to make Jack Harrison’s loan deal permanent – with the 23-year-old excelling under Marcelo Bielsa.
Harrison, who signed on loan at Leeds for the second successive season from Manchester City after a brilliant 2018/2019 campaign at Elland Road, has continued that momentum into this year – becoming a mainstay as the Whites once again chase Premier League promotion. The Englishman, who has started 37 games for Bielsa’s side this season, has also managed to rack up 1.7 shots, 2.1 key passes and 1.9 completed dribbles per game (WhoScored) – highlighting his attacking threat.
“He’s been excellent, played against him before as well and I think he’s a really good player,” explained Hutton to Football Insider. “It doesn’t surprise me, he’s definitely in that mould of the manager, the hard working, getting about people, he gives everything, always on the pitch.
“It doesn’t surprise me that they’re looking to keep him if they go up.”
Indeed, judging by his stats and the array of impressive performances at Elland Road, Hutton is definitely correct in his verdict that there is ‘no surprise‘ over Leeds’ interest in Harrison – especially given the fact that he is unlikely to storm into Manchester City’s first team upon return.
