Clearly, Leeds need to add more pace to their front line next season, and PSG’s Jese Rodriguez would give them all that and more if they can snap him up this summer.
The Spaniard has been on loan at Real Betis this season, and despite his average performances, Leeds could help him fulfil the potential that clubs across Europe believed he had half a decade ago. Indeed, the move would certainly be a coup and potentially work wonders for both parties.
Right now, he’s scored just two goals in 14 appearances for Betis since January, so it’s possible he won’t be wanted by them or his parent club PSG. After all, he came to England on loan at Stoke City last season, where he performed much better for a short while before problems off the pitch.
So, Estadio Deportivo claimed over the weekend that Marcelo Bielsa wants to bring him back to England to help battle for promotion. Well, if he signs, then the manager could transform him into an Elland Road hero by allow him to express his creativity down the left.
He was previously labelled the ‘new Ronaldo’ and he’d be a big-name signing for the fans to get excited about. If he adds pace to Leeds’ attack, he could be the man to finally drive them to the Premier League next season. Things haven’t worked out for him since his initial breakthrough in the Spanish capital but a move of this ilk might be enough for the Spaniard to get his career back on track.
He’s rated at £4.5m on Transfermarkt and that’d be a bargain if he can make the Whites’ fans dreams come true next season. Bielsa should take the risk and help the player become the wide-man everyone expected him to be.
