Leeds United: Club’s supporters react on Twitter to Pablo Hernandez injury update

The next six games for Leeds United are the biggest that the club has had to face in a decade.

Currently third in the Championship, the Whites are just one point behind Sheffield United and know that a strong end to the season could see them usurp their promotion rivals and secure a return to the Premier League after 15 years away.

For them to achieve this, it is imperative that Pablo Hernandez is at full fitness. The Spanish midfielder suffered a knock during the Whites’ 1-0 defeat at Birmingham City on Saturday yet has travelled with the squad ahead of tonight’s clash with Preston North End (according to the Yorkshire Evening Post).

Having been directly involved in a total of 23 goals this season, Hernandez has been arguably Leeds’ best attacking player and so the risk of losing him at this late stage could have been disastrous for the club’s hopes of a top-two finish.

Reacting to the news that the 33-year-old could have a strong chance of featuring for Marcelo Bielsa’s side at Deepdale, these Whites fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts on the update.

Although it is unquestionable that Hernandez would give Leeds a huge boost if he is fit enough to start against the Lilywhites, it is a huge risk to take as another setback could end up ruling him out of the rest of the campaign.
