Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills believes that the West Yorkshire club will not lose Ben White in the January transfer window.
The centre-back is currently on loan at Elland Road from Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion and has been a mainstay in the team, playing every minute of their Championship campaign so far (Transfermarkt).
His performances have been excellent and have led to some worrying that the Seagulls will want to take him back to the AMEX when the transfer window reopens in January.
However, Mills doesn’t think that will happen and instead thinks that White will spend the remainder of the campaign with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Speaking to Football Insider about whether Brighton would recall White from his loan spell, Mills said: “It’s unlikely, often clubs say you’ve got him for the season and that’s it, simple as that, unless it’s by a mutual agreement, that they agree to rip it up and start again.
“I think it’s unlikely that they’ll lose Ben White, I think he’s been absolutely superb.”
If Leeds can keep hold of White until the end of the season, then it will be excellent news for them.
Added to that, he is also the second highest rated Leeds player this season on WhoScored with 7.22 – only Kalvin Phillips is considered to have had a better season.
His stats are extremely impressive. Indeed, he is averaging 3.6 clearances, 2.9 interceptions and 1.9 successful tackles per game (WhoScored).
Keeping hold of him could well be the difference between winning promotion or failing.
