Leeds United: Fans buzz over Phil Hay’s view on Marcelo Bielsa

Many Leeds United fans are buzzing over Phil Hay’s comments on Marcelo Bielsa, as the journalist believes the head coach is ‘tailor-made’ for the current unprecedented circumstances.
Writing in The Athletic, the football writer revealed staff “have not seen much of Marcelo Bielsa at Thorp Arch since Leeds United locked their training ground down, but he showed up without warning a couple of weeks back, armed with purpose… and a pen.”
Hay then went on to discuss how he feels the Whites are well-placed to finish the campaign in style.
Affectionately nicknamed ‘El Loco’, the Argentine has built up a real reputation as one of the highest-respected managers in the world, as the Peacocks are arguably a real joy to watch in the Championship, and his side are currently at the top of the English second division, with Premier League football firmly in their sights.
As the reporter pointed out, Bielsa has an impressive record of getting clubs out quickly from the starting blocks, with an average of 15 points from all his teams combined from a standing start. This could benefit Leeds as if the season does continue, it will almost be like starting all over again after such a long break.
Coupled with the fact United have a comfortable seven-point cushion over the playoff places, promotion is surely almost all but inevitable.
With everything up in the air, it is difficult to predict how the season will come to an end, but with Bielsa at the helm, fans should be reassured that the club is in safe hands.
Understandably, a whole number of Leeds supporters reacted to Hay’s tweet, with one fan calling the break a “blessing in disguise.”

Both seasons we have started very strongly. Think we will have the edge in terms of fitness. We will smash this.
