Starting places have been rare for the Arsenal loanee so far, but he made his case in Leeds United’s 1-1 draw with Preston North End on Tuesday night.
Eddie Nketiah or Patrick Bamford?
Nketiah, who has been behind striker Patrick Bamford in the pecking order so far this season, appeared to rescue Leeds from defeat with an influential display.
Coming on just over ten minutes before the full-time whistle, with his side trailing 1-0, the Englishman impressed for Marcelo Bielsa’s team – providing a real threat on the break and attracting the free-kick which eventually led to him scoring the looping header which brought the game level.
As a result, Lilywhites supporters have been calling for the youngster to start – either with Bamford or replacing him – with his quality evident for all to see.
No excuses not to start him now! If he had half the chances we have created tonight we would more than likely be winning!

Bamford has proven for the last 9 years that he does not deliver. Fact. We create more chances than any other team in the championship. Fact. Bielsa knows that but why not acknowledge that Nketiah, will deliver 25 + goals and that Bamford is ordinary.

We should start Nketiah let him score then bring him off for Bamford who can then hold up play. #lufc

What a surprise, he comes on, he scores? What does he have to do to start? Can’t Bamford be kidnapped or sign for some Chinese team? He is the thorn is Leed’s side!

Amazing we have a player that scores goals and yet he doesn’t get to play 90 minutes, in January either buy a 20 / 25 goal a season player or play the ones who score regularly !
