Leeds United: Fans delighted that Helder Costa is starting to show up

Leeds United fans are finally starting to see what Helder Costa was brought in to do and have taken to Twitter to praise his recent efforts as he looks to shine.
The 25-year-old has been largely ineffective for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan in the summer, however his recent performance against Blackburn Rovers appears to have won some of the club’s faithful over.
Although he was not directly involved in the goals when helping Leeds take all three points on Saturday in a 2-1 win, the former Portugal international managed to put in an efficient display. According to data compiled by WhoScored, he managed just one key pass, took one shot, completed three dribbles, made one interception and two clearances in the 80 minutes he was on the pitch.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee, who will turn his move to the Whites into a permanent stay in the summer, has struggled to make an impact since arriving in the summer.
Indeed, in his 16 Championship appearances to date, Costa has managed to assist just once and makes just 0.5 key passes a game (WhoScored).
However, as mentioned, it appears fans are starting to warm to the 25-year-old’s performances for the club and took to Twitter to share their reactions to his latest efforts.
Here are just some of them…

Nervy win in the end but I’ll take that. Well taken goal by Harrison but he could be even better if he learns when to release the ball. Costa growing into his role every week. White absolutely superb again. Chuffed for Bamford. #lufc

Get in. Made it tough for ourselves but 3 points is all that matters. Buzzing for Bamford, Harrison played quality and Costa looked like he had his best game for us. Plenty of positives to take from that. #lufc
