Responding to a piece by The Athletic journalist Phil Hay, which detailed the paranoia from Leeds supporters in regards to having the season potentially voided, many Whites supporters have been in full discussion over that distinct possibility – with one fan suggesting that it would ‘kill Leeds United’.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side currently sit top of the Championship and within touching distance of automatic promotion, but the coronavirus football suspension has potentially threatened to derail their season. After a more than 15-year absence from the Premier League, Leeds supporters are desperate for their side to make a top flight return – narrowly missing out last campaign after Derby County beat them on the road to a Wembley play-off final. Indeed, with the Argentine’s side so close to promotion, it’s little wonder why supporters are becoming scared over their team potentially missing out through something as bizarre as a voided season. Find all of their best responses to Hay’s insight on the situation down below.
Football is secondary at the moment yes but this would kill Leeds United if the season is voided.. As a female journalist said yesterday football is ruined if this is voided…

I’ll never watch football again if the authorities deem it acceptable to cancel a season that’s 80% completed and deny fans and teams the fruits of their labour.

I’d probably lose a lot of interest if it was voided. Because, what’s the point?

I’d be gutted if we don’t go up because of a void season, for the simple fact that we’d lose Bielsa, Phillips white and god knows who else but I think it would ruin our chances for a another 10years plus

Think the season should be finished no matter what and when you CANT reward the teams at the bottom and punish the teams at the top morally wrong after 80% of the season completed there would be absolute uproar! Last time it happened it was 3 games in not 9 from the end!! 💙💛MOT

The season has to be completed, otherwise what is the point?
