Leeds United fans were elated after West Bromwich Albion dropped points away to Wigan Athletic in the Championship last night.
The Baggies only managed to draw 1-1 as they surrendered their position at the top of the table to the Whites on goal difference.
After ‘keeper Sam Johnstone opened the scoring with an own goal, Charlie Austin fired home an indirect free-kick just yards from the goal line to rescue a point (via BBC).
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have a better goal difference of just one over their promotion rivals having conceded just 10 goals; meanwhile, Slaven Bilic’s side have conceded 21 already this season.
However, the Midlands side do have a far better attack compared to the Yorkshire outfit having scored 42 goals to their 32.
Following the draw, Bilic told BBC Sport of his disappointment at the performance from his side, claiming they were nowhere near the levels they have shown this year.
