Leeds United: Fans fear repeat of 2019 transfer in chase for Che Adams - Leeds United

Leeds United fans have been fearing a repeat of their 2019 chase of Daniel James as the club looks to complete a move for Southampton’s Che Adams.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay revealed that while the player is the club’s number one target and is open to a move, Ralph Hassenhutl is unwilling to let the player leave the Premier League outfit. Fans are fearing a repeat of the failed transfer of Dan James from last January, a move that collapsed at the last minutes of the window after intervention from Huw Jenkins (via BBC).

Adams was involved in the south coast side’s 2-1 win against Leicester City over the weekend as he climbed off the bench to assist Danny Ings’ winner, his third assist of the season, however, he is still yet to score (via Transfermarkt). Adams also averages fewer shots per game than Patrick Bamford this campaign, though has previously proven deadly in England’s second-tier.

The Yorkshire side are in trouble of their own having failed to score a single goal in their last two games against Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday, despite having more shots than both of their opponents.

Fans were left feeling nervous over a transfer for the player as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:

Leeds fans, what do you make of the move for Adams? Let us know your thoughts!
