Leeds United fans have been left frustrated after Marcelo Bielsa explained why Ian Poveda was left out of the last two matchday squads.
The former Manchester City youngster has been absent from the past two Championship sides that have played against Nottingham Forest and Brentford with the Argentine finally explaining why he didn’t feature. He claimed that he organises his substitutes’ bench so it has two defenders, two midfielders and two attackers and that players in the best conditions are chosen for particular matches.
One fan made a strong claim over how truthful the manager was being.
This is literally a lie.

This doesn’t make for good reading as the winger has still been involved with the under-23s in his absence from the senior side. It could well suggest that Poveda hasn’t done enough to impress the former Marseille manager, who just last week claimed that he chooses the team he thinks is ready (via Phil Hay).
Whatever has occurred with Poveda, the supporters aren’t too happy with Bielsa’s words on the youngster as they reacted to his comments on his absence. Here are some replies:
We Haven’t even got 2 strikers 😂😂😂😂😂

Two strikers, he’s a funny guy

Just goes to prove what we all know
It has been a shocking January transfer window for Leeds United

And being a new midfield signing is apparently even more pointless than being a reserve from the youth setup. “Welcome, Ian! Now join the back of a very long queue, mate. You should get a Carabao start by season 3…”

He’s lost it I reckon
