You can be forgiven for forgetting all about Adam Forshaw – after all, the Leeds midfielder has been out of action since the loss to Charlton way back in September last year.
There has been little in the way of news on the former Middlesbrough player, with Bielsa not mentioning him in his pre-match press conference prior to the draw with Brentford (via Phil Hay). However, there has now been an update on the £4.5m-rated player (as per Transfermarkt), with The Athletic’s Phil Hay confirming that he will undergo surgery to fix a hip issue, an injury that will rule him out for the rest of the season (via Leeds Utd).
The club went on to confirm that Forshaw was targeting a return in time for pre-season. As news of his fitness woes reached supporters, there were displays of frustration as some fans took to Twitter to react. Let’s take a look at some of the responses:
You’ve known he was injured since Calgiari and didn’t bring in a midfielder in January. A ridiculous risk to take.

“A transfer window” being singular… we had two opportunities. Completely embarrassing from the club to be honest

Ridiculous how they’ve tried to sort it without an operation, negligence again.

Will Kalvin Phillips leave Leeds in 2020?
