Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah put on an influential display for the Lilywhites on Tuesday, scoring a late equaliser off the bench, prompting fans to storm his social media channels.
The striker has struggled for a starting place in Marcelo Bielsa’s side so far this campaign, making all nine appearances for Leeds United off the bench – scoring three goals.
However, in his latest outing against Preston North End, he made a crucial impact – replacing Patrick Bamford ten minutes from full-time and grabbing an equaliser in the dying minutes to make it 1-1.
As a result, supporters have come calling for the 20-year-old to be given a chance in this Whites team – starting with or without Bamford upfront.
Chuffed with his monumental contribution so close to the final whistle, and against one of United’s promotion rivals, Nketiah took to social media and praised the team for their efforts – whilst also thanking the fans for bringing an army to Deepdale.
This is how Lilywhites supporters responded, with some brilliant results:

You will get your start….. for me, you playing off Bamford but on your own is good too…. quick 3 goals and Pat comes on if you tire and holds up play and maybe sneaks the 4th ….. this Saturday please

Saturday my 🔮 is telling me u will be in a strange little thing called the starting 11. Its the position where u dont have to sit on a bench for 60-70 minutes…. 👍🏼👍🏼

Hope to see you starting soon lad. The chances we are missing are ridiculous. We should be at least 6 pts clear. Ironically if it wasn’t for your goals we would be mid table.
Keep the faith pal

Thanks Eddie, you have made the 5 hour journey back to Southampton slightly better –
What a future you have – I hope we see more of you at Elland Road 👊
