Leeds United players and senior staff have agreed to take a wage cut as part of the initiative to deal with the impact of recent events. Journalist Phil Hay tweeted about this before the club officially confimed it, resulting in many supporters lauding the ‘superb‘ and ‘fantastic‘ gesture.
Due to the EFL’s current suspension, Leeds along with every other Championship outfit have been forced to wait on the sidelines until certain events are resolved – with the club missing out on crucial revenue thanks to a lack of match day income among other sources of profit.
Bearing that in mind, club players and senior staff have now banded together and agreed to take a wage deferral in the potential hope of combating the financial strain. In response to Hay’s update before the official announcement, plenty of Whites fans have professed their pride in their club for doing what could be necessary.
