Marcelo Bielsa’s side had gone into the game on the back of two matches without a win after following up a draw against Derby County with an away defeat against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

However, the West Yorkshire side were back to their best against the Baggies and produced an impressive performance to inflict a first league defeat of the season on their opponents.

Ezgjan Alioski grabbed the headlines by scoring the winning goal for Leeds, but it was another player who was being given plenty of praise on social media after the game.

Whilst he didn’t score, Patrick Bamford produced a strong performance in the lone striker role on the night. He battled hard against the West Brom defenders, held the ball up well and finished the night with an impressive 90.9% passing accuracy which was higher than all of his teammates (via WhoScored).

The former Derby County and Norwich City striker has come in for plenty of criticism from fans during his time at Elland Road for missing chances, but many of the Leeds faithful were impressed with his display against Albion and rushed to offer him praise on Twitter.

Here is what some Leeds United fans were saying about Bamford’s performance against West Brom…
