Leeds United: Fans hit out at EFL after Millwall awarded contentious penalty

Leeds United fans were hitting out at the EFL after some contentious decisions went Millwall’s way in Tuesday night’s Championship game.
After going 1-0 down early on in the clash, the Lions were attacking through Ryan Woods, who seemed to go out of play with the ball, before Jon Dadi Bodvarsson was fouled by Ezgjan Alioski inside the penalty box. Images shared by the Whites (via Sam LUFC) showed the ball clearly going out of play in the build-up to the second goal, seemingly infuriating the supporters.
One fan was left seething with the decision.
For those that haven’t seen it.
1st was given as a goal kick
2nd was allowed to play on and were awarded a penalty.Beyond shocking officiating! 😳🤬 #lufc #Millwall #efl #refwatch pic.twitter.com/J96T057z2O

It wasn’t the only strange decision made during the 90 minutes with Marcelo Bielsa’s side were refused a corner kick after Bartosz Białkowski made a save from Stuart Dallas (Leeds via Connor Holt). Fans were left criticising the EFL and referees after the two decisions from yesterday’s clash as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
This happened on the build up for the penalty the EFL are corrupt and Leeds are going up . pic.twitter.com/4HaZfhbZwb

@EFL standard of championship refereeing this season has been poor but last night @lufc was a new low. Glaring errors time and time again. Got any jobs going I reckon I could do it? #lufc

And this was against 13. The ref and the assistant on the left were a disgrace to the game. Watch the 1st half back. The @EFL must take action against them. Utterly disgraceful mistakes. Should be working in Sunday league football.

I’d go as far to say the standard of officiating across the board in the @SkyBetChamp this season has been woeful, but questions do genuinely need to be asked about the sheer volume of blatant and often decisive decisions that go against Leeds United on a regular basis. #LUFC pic.twitter.com/UK5sO0Oyzv

Their keepers save and then a goal kick given has to be the worst decision I’ve ever seen.
