Since the arrival as Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United in 2018, it would be fair to say that they have become one of the best sides in the Championship.
They play a fast-paced, attacking brand of football and came so close to promotion in the 2018/19 season, with the Argentine described as ‘God’ by Graham Smith in the Yorkshire Evening Post. Indeed, they are once again gunning for the Premier League in the current campaign and sit in second place in the Championship after 10 games.
Plenty of players have improved since the Argentinian first joined the Elland Road club, but perhaps none more so than midfielder Mateusz Klich.
The 29-year-old arrived at Leeds from FC Twente under previous manager Thomas Christiansen in 2017 but he struggled under the Dane, managing just a single start against Cardiff City in which he made a mistake which led to a goal.
He was cast aside after that and was sent out on loan to Utrecht for the rest of the season. However, he has been a completely different player under Bielsa, who has shown faith in the Pole from the off.
Klich is a firm favourite of Bielsa’s and the fans have also grown to love the Polish international, too. Here is what some of them have been saying about him on Twitter following his latest performance against West Brom…
He is a machine.
