Leeds United have struggled with a few things this season, from scoring goals to stringing together a run of wins, but one thing that has proved especially difficult is the ability to score a goal from corner kicks.
At the beginning of the month, the Whites had scored just four of their 231 attempts from corners, the lowest conversion rate in the Championship (via LUFC Data). Therefore, you can imagine the humorous replies from some supporters when the under-23s scored from such a set piece during their encounter with Bolton Wanderers yesterday. Jordan Stevens was the beneficiary as he headed home a cross from Barry Douglas for the side’s third goal of the afternoon (via LUFC).
One fan was clearly very shocked.
Nope. Not believing that. Fake news. Leeds scoring at a corner?? No chance.

However, it’s not just scoring from corners which is proving to be a problem, with the Whites also struggling to defend them. After their loss to Wigan Athletic, Leeds had conceded nine goals from 128 corners faced (6.7%); only Huddersfield Town had a higher percentage (7.5%) in the Championship. The fans clearly saw the funny side to their club’s struggles as they reacted to a clip of the third goal.
