Leeds United: Fans keen for Helder Costa to be in starting line-up - Leeds United

Leeds United supporters are keen to see Helder Costa included in the starting line-up soon.

The Portuguese winger joined the Elland Road outfit on loan from Wolves in the summer and has clearly impressed the supporters below despite his limited involvement.

There should certainly have been high hopes for the 25-year-old upon his arrival, given his history in the Championship. Indeed in his first season at Wolves, he notched 10 goals and provided eight assists from out wide, whilst he also chipped in with five goals and six assists in their 17/18 promotion campaign.

However, despite his excellent experience in English football’s second-tier he has struggled to break into Marcelo Bielsa’s starting 11 so far.

Indeed Costa is yet to start a game for Leeds in the Championship, with all eight of his appearances coming as a substitute.

He has managed to show one or two glimpses of his talent in his cameos, including providing the assist for Eddie Nketiah’s match-winning goal against Brentford.

The Leeds fans now want to see more of what he can offer, with many of them hoping he will be given a start by Bielsa soon.

Jack Harrison’s form has not been great of late and he has failed to register a goal or an assist in his last seven league appearances, whilst Pablo Hernandez has no goals and one assist in his last six.

With his two rivals for the wide positions misfiring, there are certainly valid reasons for the Portuguese to replace either in the 11, which is what the Whites fans on Twitter are hoping for…
