Leeds United: Fans call for Nketiah to start for Leeds after Twitter post

So many Leeds United supporters reacted to a recent tweet shared by Eddie Nketiah, showing the Arsenal-owned striker in training with England’s Under-21s ahead of clashes with Slovenia and Austria.

Young Lions boss Aidy Boothroyd named Nketiah among a five-man attacking core for his side’s upcoming friendly with Slovenia, before facing Austria in Milton Keynes next Tuesday looking to build on Euro 2021 qualifying wins over Kosovo and Turkey.

Nketiah struck the opening and equalising goals as England’s U21s beat Turkey 3-2 last month, with what were his third and fourth goals at that level after firing prolifically in his outings for the younger age brackets (Transfermarkt).

The 20-year-old has only scored once for Leeds since facing Vedat Inceefe’s youngsters at the Kocaeli Stadı in September, though, with Nketiah unable to prevent the Elland Road natives from defeats to Charlton Athletic and Millwall, and played no part in the Whites’ victory over promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion.

But United supporters have been loving a recent post by the London-born forward on Twitter, in which he included a short video showing a highlight reel of moments in training with the Young Lions.

Nketiah can be seen skinning past fellow Arsenal youngster Joe Willock before rifling the ball home into the back of the net, and later curling a first-time effort into the top corner of the goal much to the admiration of Manchester City wonderkid Phil Foden.

Many Leeds fans reacting to his post have shared hope in seeing the Arsenal product soon featuring in their starting line-up, having only witnessed his potential from the bench in the second tier thus far.

Here are some of the messages shared…
