Several Leeds United fans have been unimpressed by the recent performances of winger Helder Costa.
Should Leeds sign Helder Costa permanently?
The 25-year-old joined the Whites on loan from Wolves in the summer, with an agreement in place for the deal to become permanent next summer for a fee believed to be around £15 million (via The Mirror).
There was plenty of excitement following the arrival of the Portuguese. This was a player who had been very good for Wolves in the second tier a couple of years ago, indeed he scored 10 goals and provided eight assists for them in the 16/17 campaign (via Transfermarkt).
But as of yet, he has failed to deliver during his time at Elland Road, despite an increase in time on the pitch recently.
After initially struggling to break into the team, Costa has started Leeds’ last six Championship matches but has failed to register a single goal or assist in that time (via Transfermarkt).
That has led to several Whites supporters becoming frustrated with the winger. Most believe that he should be contributing more and some would even like to see him dropped out of the starting 11 in the coming weeks.
Here is what some Leeds fans have been saying about Costa on Twitter recently…
After seeing what Costa has to offer I think it might be worth giving Jack Clarke a run out #lufc

3/5 Costa needs more fire in belly & chip in with goals. V disappointed with him, yes he’s come into team only last few games as Pablo injured, but was our main summer target! To not have been main part of team on his part is poor, should be running rings around defenders #lufc

He has been really underwhelming this season. He needs dropping.

Ayling can’t link up with him down the right because he offers nothing to him, centre midfield can’t link up with him! Everytime Dallas took a throw in he got muscled off the ball, I just don’t know what he offers us?
