Leeds United: Fans not missing Pontus Jansson after watching his latest performance for Brentford

Several eyebrows were raised in the summer when Leeds United chose to sell Pontus Jansson to Brentford for a fee of £5.5 million.
Are Leeds destined for another season in the Championship?
Yes

No

The Swedish international defender was a regular for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the 2018/19 campaign, making 39 Championship appearances in total (via Transfermarkt).
However, despite this the club opted to move him on in the most recent transfer window, and after watching his latest display for the Bees against Queens Park Rangers on Monday it seems that many fans are glad that they did.
Whilst Brentford did win the game 3-1, the Swede did not produce his best display. He allowed Grant Hall far too much space from a corner which allowed the QPR defender to score (YouTube), and also misplaced five long balls, had one unsuccessful touch and made zero successful tackles in the game, finishing with a WhoScored rating of just 6.66.
Leeds replaced Jansson with youngster Ben White, who joined on loan from Brighton, and he has helped the Whites to the best defensive record in the division so far, conceding just eight goals in 14 fixtures (BBC Sport).
Most fans are happy that they got rid of Jansson and brought in White in the summer, and here is what some were saying after watching his performance against QPR…
Remember when White “wasn’t good enough to replace Jansson”???
LOL Jansson is actually awful, we 100% looked at him through rose tinted glasses because he did a few fist bumps.. Trying to head thin air again, couldn’t even lace Ben Whites boots #lufc

Pontus who ……
Bailey peacock who. In both positions Marcelo is vindicated . If only he can quickly solve the striker issue so we as fans can be ‘marching on together’not ‘falling apart again’ ?— ViduKewell (@ViduKewell) October 29, 2019

Goal difference : 14-9. This tells a story too.
We concede less goals now because Ben White replaced Jansson?— LUFC Shah Alam (@AlamLufc) October 28, 2019
