The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that the club has been branded as a soft touch by David Prutton in his column in the Yorkshire Evening Post. The comments come as a result of Leeds dismal form since the turn of the year as a playoff place now looks far out of reach for the Yorkshire side.
Leeds fans will struggle to deny that their club has looked soft over the last few months. The club’s only win since 2017 was a scrappy 1-0 victory over Brentford in February and whilst early season ambitions of a promotion playoff place looked likely as the sides topped the Championship for two weeks in September. The Whites now look destined for another season in England’s second tier.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom has struggled to motivate his side and with eight games remaining this season, it’s hard to see where the club will find another win from. The Elland Road faithful find themselves languishing 14th in the Championship after a 2-1 defeat at home to an injury-ridden, struggling Sheffield Wednesday side. The next side to face Leeds will be Bolton, as they travel to Elland Road next Saturday, although not many Leeds fans will be getting excited about the game given their awful form going into the game.
Taking that into account here’s our resident Whites’ verdict:
Good article. The final paragraph, although very persoal to DP, knocks the nail on the head re this current Leeds side.

There’s no risk of being a soft touch…they already are.

PH should put the last comment up on the dressing room wall for all to see and maybe it will register something in their heads,

We're a bloody joke worst season in years, we should not be getting beaten at home by teams worse than us, rather watch Silsden fc.
