Leeds United: Fans go crazy for Salim Lamrani after show of support for his former club

Despite leaving the club in acrimonious circumstances at the end of the 2018/19 season, it seems as though Salim Lamrani still retains support from some of the Yorkshire faithful.
Marcelo Bielsa’s former right-hand man sent a message to the fans ahead of the clash against Brentford tonight. In a post on Twitter, Lamrani urged them to show their support for the first team, claiming that he ‘knows’ the players are ‘good men’ and that the team would soon be in the Premier League.
One fan labelled his words as ‘wise’.
Dear Salim wonderful wise words again thank you. We could do with you delivering a motivational speech to the lads before tomorrow night and Saturdays games please. MOT

The Elland Road outfit aren’t in the best of form right now, having won just two of their last 10 Championship games (via WhoScored). It has seen them lose their 10-point advantage on an automatic promotion place, which they held following their draw at home to Cardiff City back in December. Many supporters still admire the Frenchman, though, who acted as a translator during his time at the club as they reacted to his message.
Let’s take a look at a few of the reactions:
^^^ @SalimLamraniOff you’ll always have the respect of Leeds fans! What a gentleman! Always welcome back at Elland Road! #lufc
