Leeds United: Fans purr over footage of ‘class finisher’ Tony Yeboah - Leeds United

Some Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Whites-focused Twitter account @LUFCHistory, which shares footage of a classic Tony Yeboah hat-trick.

@LUFCHistory are complimentary about the former Leeds attacker in their recent tweet which shares footage of Yeboah’s hat-trick from a classic 4-0 win for the Whites over Ipswich Town, claiming that he “made the art of goal scoring look so easy”.

Yeboah, who is currently the president of Ghanaian side Berekum Chelsea FC, originally joined Leeds United on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 1995. Following the expiration of his loan deal, Yeboah became a Leeds player on a permanent basis in July 1995, with the Whites paying a fee of £2.93m to bring the former Ghana international to Elland Road

According to Leeds-Live, the former striker went on to score a total of 32 goals in 61 appearances for Leeds before ultimately leaving the club to head back to Germany, joining Hamburger SV for a fee of £1.94m in September 1997.

Yeboah’s hat-trick in Leeds’ 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town was the first of three hat-tricks that the attacker scored during his tenure at Elland Road, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk. Some Leeds fans have been reminiscing fondly on Yeboah’s time at the club in response to this footage which has recently surfaced on Twitter.
