Leeds United: Fans react to Brighton’s latest update on Ben White

Leeds United: Fans react to Brighton’s latest update on Ben White - Leeds United

Loads of Leeds United supporters responded to a tweet from Brighton & Hove Albion showing a youngster’s letter to the Seagulls about Ben White’s loan move.

Five-year-old fan Daniel Auton emptied his piggy bank and made a cheeky bid worth £15.07 to the chief executive Paul Barber to make the signing permanent (Mail).

The South Coast club shared the exchange of letters between the two on Twitter, regrettably adding Brighton will have to turn down the offer for the young defender.

After arriving at Elland Road from the AMEX Stadium on a short-term contract, White has put in a string of impressive performances at the back for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the Championship, featuring in 37 appearances, making 1.7 tackles per game, averaging a staggering 2.3 interceptions, and successfully completing 3 clearances on average in the English second tier (via WhoScored).

Given his eye-catching defensive contributions, many Whites fans will be hoping the board will try to reach an agreement with the Premier League team for the 22-year-old in the summer.

Unsurprisingly, Albion’s post prompted plenty of replies from Leeds fans, with one supporter cheekily commenting “cheers Brighton, son’s crying, nice one.”

United’s owner Andrea Radrizzani even joined in with the fun, adding Auton is more than welcome to assist the director of football Victor Orta with the upcoming transfer window.
