Leeds United fans have been providing their reactions on Twitter regarding Liam Cooper’s debut for Scotland.

The Tartan Army were on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to Russia in one of their Euro 2020 qualifiers, despite having gone ahead inside the first ten minutes via Aston Villa’s John McGinn.
Goals from Artem Dzyuba and an own goal from Stephan O’Donnell just before the hour were enough for the visitors to take all three points.
Many of the Leeds faithful would have had an eye on the contest as Cooper was playing his first game for Scotland, however it would seem some of them had some mixed views on just how well the centre-back performed.
The 28-year-old has been a mainstay for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season and has put in a number of solid contributions for the Whites in their quest for promotion – having managed to achieve an average of one tackle, 1.6 interceptions and four clearances in his five Championship appearances so far (WhoScored) – which, perhaps, justified Steve Clarke’s decision to include him.
Here are just some of the reactions from Leeds fans…
Liam Cooper will cost them qualification like he cost us promotion, simply not good enough, could not follow his man for scotland second goal.

An absolute joke it’s taken this long to get his first cap.

Liam Cooper getting rinsed for Scotland and pretending he’s rubbish on purpose so he doesn’t get picked again and can focus on promotion. You love to see it. #lufc
