Leeds United have announced on their official website that right-back Luke Ayling has committed his future to the club, signing a contract extension which runs until the summer of 2023.
He becomes the fourth player in the last few weeks to agree fresh terms at Elland Road. Kalvin Phillips was the first to get a new deal, before captain Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas also extended their contracts with the club.
The former Arsenal trainee is yet to feature for the Whites this season due to injury, but was a key man for Marcelo Bielsa last season as he played 42 times in all competitions, scoring twice and creating six assists (via TransferMarkt).
Speaking to Leeds United’s official website about his new contract, Ayling said: “It’s great and I’m really happy to sign on.
“Over the last few years and since I signed, I feel like we have been taking steps forward to where we are now, being the biggest club in the Championship and hopefully pushing back on into the Premier League.
“My family love it here, this is home for us now, so to sign another long deal to take me to 32 is a really nice feeling.”
Many of Leeds United’s supporters are delighted to see the 28-year-old agree fresh terms with the club, and most are now looking forward to him returning to first team action soon.
