Leeds United: Fans react to Phil Hay’s tweet

A Twitter post created on Saturday by Phil Hay had many of the Leeds United faithful reacting with a wide range of emotions.

The respected The Athletic journalist appeared to be trying to make light of the current situation the professional game has found itself having to deal with under the current global crisis and tweeted out one of his customary goal tweets.
Hay would normally send an overexuberant post when Marcelo Bielsa’s side find the back of the net to his followers when he follows Leeds home and away to his followers and decided to continue what appears to have become a weekly tradition despite no football being played.
Nonetheless, his decision to do so appeared to spark a rather large response from the Whites’ fanbase, with a wide variety of emotions clearly being put on display when surfing through the replies.
Some fans loved the fact that Hay was still doing what he has throughout the campaign as Leeds look to secure promotion to the Premier League, whilst others had appeared to ask him to stop it as they did not seem to find it amusing.
Here are just some of their reactions to the journalist’s tweet…
