Leeds United are closing in on a summer move for Linfield youngster Charlie Allen, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
The Yorkshire club sit top of the Championship as things stand and very much on course to seal an automatic promotion to the Premier League. Boss Marcelo Bielsa will undoubtedly look to bolster his squad options next term and freshen up his attack.
Allen, who is unlikely to be handed an instant first team chance if he moves to Elland Road, is an exciting prospect, having already featured for ex-Whites striker David Healy‘s first team at Linfield. The 16-year-old has been on the radar of a number of English clubs, including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Rangers.
As per the Belfast Telegraph, Allen was just 15 when he was handed his first team debut for Linfield in the final league game of last season away to Coleraine and he has made seven appearances since then.
Reacting to a tweet from Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth in which he shared an article on Allen’s potential move to Elland Road, these Leeds fans gave their views on a youngster dubbed a “great prospect”…
