Leeds United: Fans slam Luke Ayling’s display vs Reading

Plenty of Leeds United fans have been left to rue the latest performance of Luke Ayling, who was not at his best in the 1-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night.
Ayling is an extremely popular figure at Elland Road due to his passion for the club, having fought back from a serious injury to get back into the side not once but twice.
Unfortunately though, those injuries appear to have taken something out of the 28 year-old, and he looks just a little bit off the pace nearly every time he steps onto the pitch.
That was no different on Tuesday, when Jack Harrison’s late goal sent the Whites to the top of the Championship in a 1-0 win.
Ayling gave the ball away 20 times, per Sofascore, which was the joint-second most in the match alongside Kalvin Phillips.
Pablo Hernandez lost the ball 21 times, but that is to be expected from a creative player attempting dangerous passes – a defender surrendering possession 20 times is a lot more concerning.
Fans have been criticising Ayling’s performance, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…

Luke Ayling is having a bit of a mare isn’t he? Don’t even think the trademarked “Ayling flop” has worked yet either #lufc

Ben White aside, they’ve all been bang average. Ayling has been utterly abysmal.
