Leeds United fans were spurring on Jamie Shackleton after the midfielder opened the scoring for the under-23s in their 2-1 win over Crewe Alexandra.
After the ball was robbed off their opponents on the half-way line, Ryan Edmondson dribbled to the edge of the box before setting up the England youth international as he struck an effort into the top corner (via LUFC).
The 20-year-old has been on a long road back to full fitness after suffering a number of hamstring injuries in the first half of the season. Having been kept out for two months after suffering the fitness issue in the 1-0 win at home to West Bromwich Albion, the player then suffered a relapse in the victory over Reading back in November (via Leeds Live).
This has reduced him to just nine first-team appearances so far this campaign and with Marcelo Bielsa’s side on a run of one win in five games, a return to action could be a boost (via WhoScored). Fans were full of motivating messages for the player after he notched up a goal in the win as they took to Twitter to react. With that in mind, here is a selection of tweets from the Yorkshire faithful:
Go on Shack!! Hope we see more of him second half of Season in 1st Team.
