Leeds fans have taken little time in becoming endeared to young loanee Eddie Nketiah. The Arsenal man bagged for them on his debut in the Whites’ 3-0 win over Salford City in the Carabao Cup 1st round, but signing the youngster was quite the ordeal.
Want to loan Eddie Nketiah? Don’t think you just have to put up the money.

Step up, Victor Orta. The Spanish director of football at Elland Road was key to bringing in Nketiah, as he faced off against Lee Johnson of Bristol City and a representative of German club Fortuna Dusseldorf to eventually convince both Arsenal and Nketiah that the Yorkshire club was the right move.
This has all been revealed by the ever-reliable Phil Hay on The Athletic, and after reading about how far the Whites, and Orta in particular, went into making sure that the young Arsenal teenager signed for them to spearhead their Championship title push, fans have since had their say.

Fascinating stuff, Phil. I’m sure Eddie is going to score a lot of goals for us but it does leave a sour taste knowing that Bielsa will probably add millions to his value yet we have no chance of signing him permanently and are paying through the nose for the privilege!

Christ never knew there was so much detail. So guess this answers our question of whether he will be starting looks like he will have to at some point

Great article again Phil. Had no idea how complex it was. Orta haters should be forced to sit and read every word. For those moaning about paying to read, it isn’t even the price of a pint or a coffee a week. Hooked on the site!

The Whites, going off the tweets above, seem fascinated by the complication of signing Nketiah and it’s up to the youngster to prove that he’s worth the hassle now.
