Leeds United: Fans want Gaetano Berardi gone when his deal ends this summer

Leeds fan will be worried last season’s disappointment is about to be repeated after slipping to fifth last weekend, and with four goals in the last six games, their forwards should be taking a lot of the blame. However, Gaetano Berardi broke that trend last weekend after he was sent off against Millwall on Saturday.
Is Marcelo Bielsa capable of taking Leeds United up?
Yes

No

The Swiss defender was given his marching orders on the 14th minute for a foul on Tom Bradshaw which resulted in a penalty. The red card has since been rescinded, but with his 6.37 rating on WhoScored from his five appearances in the Championship so far this season, some fans are wishing he was still suspended.
Phil Hay, Leeds writer for The Athletic, wrote a story considering whether the 31-year-old will be given a new contract when his existing one runs out in the summer. He confirms there have been no talks so far, and by the looks of the fans in the replies, the Elland Road faithful don’t want any talks to happen at all.
Column: Berardi beats the FA and ends a 12-year wait for Leeds to win a red card appeal.
But Berardi’s deal at Elland Road ends next summer and as yet no talks about an extension have taken place. Will this season be a last hurrah for the Swiss firebrand?https://t.co/36h8KxLRIB

Wouldn’t waste time on negotiating a new deal, there’s a lot better out there

Get him gone!!

In a word hopefully. His occasional decent CB performance does not hide the fact he is average at best in all positions he plays, a liability against pace and an raving thuggish idiot at least twice a season. #lufc

Cannot fault Berardi for effort. If we really believe we are a top two team he simply isn’t good enough and he has to leave and be replaced with a quality defender. Over to Radz on that.

Get a few quid for him in January if we can and get a centre half who can actually be relied on as back up in the door, has to happen!

8 red cards, limited ability and a ‘utility’ player at best. Hardly gonna be breaking the door down to keep him are we.

Hopefully. Every time he plays I’m expecting him to give a goal away and then to get sent off

Who do you think should be Leeds’ back-up defender if Gaetano Berardi leaves?
