Leeds United: Fans want to see Ryan Edmondson in first team squad

Several Leeds United supporters want to see youngster Ryan Edmondson included in the first team squad.

The 18-year-old currently plays for the club’s under-23 side, but he did make two cameo appearances for the first team last season against Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers respectively (Transfermarkt).

His latest appearance for the under-23s was on Monday evening as they took on Burnley. And Edmondson produced a strong performance, scoring in the first half to help the team to a 1-1 draw against the Clarets (via Leeds Live).

The Whites are currently struggling for goals in the Championship. Indeed, they are the lowest scorers in the top nine (BBC Sport) and first choice striker Patrick Bamford has failed to score in his last nine games (WhoScored).

Whilst Eddie Nketiah has looked bright in his substitute appearances, scoring three goals and claiming one assist, Leeds could well do with a little more depth in the forward areas.

Edmondson recently made his debut for the England under-19s, scoring a goal and providing an assist against Greece in a 3-1 win (Transfermarkt).
