Leeds United: Fans wax lyrical about iconic Luke Ayling goal

Loads of Leeds United fans have been fondly remembering an iconic goal from Luke Ayling, following the news his stunner in a Championship clash at Elland Road was awarded QuestTV’s EFL Goal of the Season So Far.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side thumped their Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town 2-0 at home earlier this year but Ayling became the centre of attention after his sensational volley just outside the box at the beginning of the game opened the scoring.
Following the announcement, the club’s official Twitter account posted footage of his incredible effort against the Terriers, revealing that nearly 28,000 people had voted for the right-back’s goal, comfortably winning with a sizeable 75% majority.
After arriving in Yorkshire from Bristol City back in the summer of 2016 for a mere £783k, the 28-year-old has made 28 appearances in the English second division this season, scoring 4 goals, picking up 3 assists, making 2 tackles per game, averaging at least 1.8 interceptions, and completing 1.8 clearances on average via WhoScored.
It is fair to say a number of the LUFC faithful will never forget his eye-catching strike, as many took to social media to wax lyrical about the “amazing” video. One fan commented Ayling is “class” and another added his goal was “quality.”
