A report by Football Insider has emerged that could frustrate Leeds United fans regarding French striker Jean-Kevin Augustin.
The striker moved to Leeds in January from RB Leipzig on aa loan move but he has failed to impress, gaining few opportunities under Marcelo Bielsa.
Having returned along with his teammates to training at Thorp Arch earlier this week, reports had emerged about his hard work and determination.
Despite such excitement growing over his potential impact when the Championship season returns, Football Insider have now claimed that the Frenchman has a lot more to do to convince Bielsa that he should gain extra playing time or even play ahead of Patrick Bamford.
The report claims that the striker has a lot of work to do and that Bamford, who has started all but two games this season, is the preferred option.
Whether or not Augustin will come back and hand Bielsa a good option up front remains to be seen, but with Leeds comfortable at the top of the league table, surely the Argentine coach can afford to give him some extra minutes and hand Bamford a rest.
Augustin’s move can be turned into a permanent one this summer, but that at present remains to be very doubtful.
