Joe Urquhart and chief football writer Graham Smyth talked on the Inside Elland Road podcast and discussed Leeds United’s Mateusz Klich and what they absolutely love about him.
Having made 36 appearances this season, Klich is seemingly one of the most important players in both Urquhart’s and Smyth’s books and they’ve shown as much when talking on of their latest podcasts.
Urquhart emphasised how the midfielder always says whatever is on his mind at that moment and his interviews clearly stand out from the rest for that very same reason.
Here’s what he said for Inside Elland Road podcast (27/2/2020): “That’s quite rare from footballers, I think. When you see so many robotic interviews now it’s quite refreshing, I think, to see a footballer who just, you know, will say what is on his mind.”
Indeed, it’s difficult to argue with that sentiment from Urquhart since footballers will often have their answers already in tow and will mostly repeat similar lines week in, week out. So, the fact he spoke to Polish outlet New Once Sport (relayed by Phil Hay) about his love for street art and his views on how money is in football does appear to suggest he’s cut from a different kind of cloth, given how rare such insight into personal views comes from footballers across the globe.
Leeds fans, do you agree with Urquhart’s verdict or do you think that Klich maybe sometimes says a bit too much? Let us know in the comments down below!
