Rocked by their shock loss at the hands of Sutton in the FA Cup, the Leeds United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern hope their exit won’t have damaging effects on their league form.
Under Garry Monk, the Whites look like genuine promotion contenders once more and our Yorkshire locals are praying the club’s players aren’t too rocked by this exit, relatively happy to accept it should Garry Monk lead the club to the Premier League.
So reports from the Daily Mail have at least come as promising ones.
They claim the club expect to agree a deal with West Ham United over a loan move for striker Ashley Fletcher, despite the fact the 21-year-old has impressed in claret and blue. Still, the reasonably dire situation in east London meant Irons chief Slaven Bilic couldn’t often select the former Man United youngster, meaning his appearances in the first-team were rather fleeting.
Fletcher, who spent time on loan last season with Barnsley, is reportedly open to the idea of playing for a club of stature under a manager who is thought to be a fan of his work rate at this stage of his career. Despite his links with both United and the Tykes, our resident Leeds fans are loving this news.
Could Fletcher help fire Leeds to promotion? Let us know below…
