Speaking in a Q&A with Leeds United’s official club account, defender Luke Ayling has revealed that he would shave his head if it meant securing a vital promotion to the Premier League.
The Englishman, who has started 27 Championship games for the Whites this season, also has the best WhoScored rating out of any Leeds player this season – racking up the best overall stats on average and securing a 7.31 score. Ayling has also made the joint-third most tackles on average (2), beating the likes of Ben White and club captain Liam Cooper.
Indeed, it would appear that the 28-year-old has become a fan favourite at Elland Road this campaign – especially considering his February Player of the Month award.
Now, speaking to the club’s official website in a Q&A, addressing his football-starved supporters, Ayling answered whether or not he would lose all his hair in exchange for promotion to the Premier League – with the defender answering with a euphoric yes.
“I think I’d have to chop my hair off because my goal in life is to play in the Premiership,” explained Ayling.
“I wouldn’t pass that up for anything, I’d probably just whip it off then pay for a hair transplant or something to get it done quickly.”
Given the fact Ayling, while he is well-liked among the Leeds fan base for his performances on the pitch, also resonates with a few sections of supporters due to his trademark ponytail – with his willingness to cut it all off for promotion perhaps hilariously indicating his commitment to the cause.
