Our Leeds United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see their side beat Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow and are feeling confident with Garry Monk’s latest comments in mind.
The Whites have been ticking along nicely this season in the Championship with them well in with a chance of qualifying for the play-off places come the end of the season.
Some inconsistency has crept in of late, though, but that appears to be the nature of the Championship – something Garry Monk has referred to in speaking to BBC Radio Leeds in light of Sheffield Wednesday’s latest result.
The Whites host the Owls at Elland Road tomorrow with the men from Hillsborough suffering a reversal at home to Brentford in the week and the former Swansea boss was left unsurprised by that.
“[I’m] not really surprised because, like I’ve said many times, this is the Championship.
“This is what the Championship can do, it’s extremely hard to win games. There’s so many games in short periods, this is what the Championship throws you. On any given day, you can be beaten but you can also, on any given day, win.”
Monk is certainly spot on with his appraisal and he’ll be hoping to pile on the misery for the Owls tomorrow as the two fierce rivals go head-to-head in what’s arguably set to be the biggest clash between the two for some time.
Our landlord cannot wait for kick-off, either, and thinks we could be set for a fire-cracker.
