Leeds United: Marcelo Bielsa looks to secure new short term deals for loanees amid coronavirus suspension - Leeds United

According to an exclusive report from Football Insider, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is looking to secure three new short term deals for their star loan players if the Championship season has to be extended – with Ben White, Jack Harrison and Jean-Kevin Augustin being the sole focus.

Even though the season has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak, that hasn’t stopped manager Bielsa from preparing his squad to finish their promotion push – starting by offering new short term deals for loanee stars White, Harrison and Augustin.

White, who has started 37 games for Leeds this season in the league, has also registered a noteworthy 85.3% pass success rate whilst making 1.7 tackles and 2.3 interceptions per game (WhoScored). Meanwhile, winger Harrison has impressed over two loan spells already at Elland Road – scoring nine goals and ten assists in total over nearly two full Championship seasons from the wing.

Whilst January loan signing Augustin hasn’t quite measured up to the plate yet, making just three appearances in total, Bielsa is reportedly keen to give him another shot by extending his current deal and hopefully getting the best out of him as the season potentially extends thanks to the current coronavirus suspension. However, due to the uncertainty surrounding the footballing calendar right now, it has been reported that these new contracts could possibly be on a ‘week-by-week‘ basis.
