Speaking exclusively to Football Insider regarding fan-favourite Leeds United defender Luke Ayling, ex-Premier League midfield man Michael Brown has showered the mainstay with praise following a clip of him scoring a superb volley in training.
The Englishman, who has started 27 Championship games for the Whites this season, becoming the main right-back choice under Marcelo Bielsa, has impressed offensively as well as defensively this campaign – netting four goals and three assists in the league. Most recently, Ayling showcased his attacking brilliance with a brilliantly taken finish to open the scoring against Huddersfield Town last weekend, with this clip courtesy of Leeds’ official account via Football Insider demonstrating his practised efforts in training. As a result, ex-Spurs midfielder Brown has lauded Ayling’s dedication – describing the footage as ‘fantastic‘. The 28-year-old has also averaged more tackles per game (2) than highly-rated youngster Ben White, potentially outlining his all-round game, as per WhoScored.com.
“I was just looking at the clips, earlier in the week in the training session do the volleys and then he goes and actually does it on the field, it’s fantastic,” exclaimed Brown to Football Insider.
“That’s what you want to see, things on the training ground come off, there’s nothing better for the club and that will give them great confidence.
“I think things are in such a good place at Leeds United, the confidence is high and the last couple of results, with clean sheets as well, led by Luke Ayling in the defence.”
Indeed, if Ayling can keep up this spell of form which has seen him become one of Leeds’ mainstays this season, Bielsa’s side could definitely be on the verge of securing a long-awaited return to the top flight.
