Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been eagerly anticipating Marcelo Bielsa’s summer signings.
Marco Bielsa will want to strengthen multiple areas of the squad. Crucially the Whites need some help at the back but also up front. A deal for Matej Vydra has been rumoured to be close, while Hull City’s Abel Hernandez has also been linked.
Derby County left Vydra at home as the team jetted off for their pre-season training in Tenerife. Yorkshire Evening Post journalist, Phil Hay has now provided an update on the move for both Vydra and Hernandez.
Abel Hernandez's agent quoted in South America as saying Hernandez now has an offer from CSKA Moscow. Leeds been holding off on that one. Unsure whether to commit the funds with other talks (like Vydra) going on. #lufc

Hay revealed that Hernandez’s has now received an offer from CSKA Moscow. However, this isn’t to say that the proposed deal is off but rather that the club are unsure whether to divert funds to the Hernandez deal or if to concentrate their efforts of a deal for Vydra.
As it stands, a move for Vydra makes more sense. The Czech is a lethal striker as proven by him finishing top of the goalscoring charts in the Championship. The Derby County striker scored 21 goals in 40 games last year. In comparison, Abel Hernandez scored eight goals in the 1o games that he played during his injury-ravaged season.
With Hernandez’s injury in mind, if Leeds can pull of Vydra’s signature, Bielsa would have a quality forward to help the push towards the Premier League.
Leeds must avoid bringing Hernandez in. The Whites must concentrate their efforts on the Vydra deal as the forward just fits Bielsa’s system so well.
