With the current 2019/20 Premier League season still being on hold due to some recent worrying developments across the globe, the baying public obviously still don’t know how the campaign is going to end.
Of course, there are a couple of possible scenarios that involve the whole season being made null and void as the likes of Karren Brady have called for, and in that case, we would have no champion, no teams being relegated and of course, no teams being promoted from the lower tiers.
Indeed, there’s also the option of freezing the league tables as they are in this very moment, giving the crown to the team at the very top and also promoting the teams that are top of the Championship.
According to journalist Oliver Holt, that is exactly what should be done in England and he voiced his opinion on his Twitter profile.
If resumption is not possible, freeze the league tables as they are now, give Liverpool the title, send Norwich, Villa and Bournemouth down and promote Leeds as champions. MoS column later. https://t.co/8gPzSznKI9

This, of course, would mean that Leeds United would be one of the teams getting automatically promoted to the English top-flight since the Whites are currently sitting in first down in the Championship, finally putting an end to their 15-year long absence from the English elite.
Whether or not this happens remains to be seen of course but, either way, given Leeds’ current position – automatic promotion looks a real possibility.
Leeds fans, do you think there’s a chance you might win automatical promotion due to recent events? How do you feel about that? Let us know down in the comments below!
