The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of a big summer. Indeed, the punters propping up the bar here desperately want the Whites to splash the cash over the next few weeks and months in order to put another dreadful season far behind them.
With that in mind, our resident Yorkshiremen are eager to hear about potential targets this summer. So, imagine the interest following comments from Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay on Twitter suggesting the club’s stance on a move for David Stockdale.
The ‘keeper has recently been told he can leave Birmingham City and many of our locals wanted him to be brought to Elland Road this summer after struggling between the sticks this summer. Born in Leeds, it seems like a clever move for the Yorkshire giants.
they’re aware of Stockdale being available but they’ve been looking at someone else

However, according to Hay, while the club are aware of Stockdale’s availability, they’ve been looking elsewhere. No names are speculated but it doesn’t seem like Stockdale is an option, a blow for many of the punters here in the Tavern.
Seems silly on Leeds’ part. None of their options between the posts have particularly excelled this season and Stockdale would be quite the coup, especially on a free. Leeds need to make clever signings after last season and Stockdale would certainly fit that mould, which makes the suggestion they aren’t interested all the more baffling.
