Leeds United should be bold and gamble on these two centre-backs

According to Sky Sports, Leeds United have agreed a fee with Wolves to sign their left-back, Barry Douglas.

Once this deal has gone through, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa will have the left flank of his defensive line sorted and settled ahead of the upcoming Championship season.

The heart of the defence at Elland Road is a different matter altogether though.

There are currently only three recognised centre-backs on the books at the club. Amongst them is Liam Cooper, who struggled last season to reach the standard expected of him.

An addition certainly needs to be made in this area of the pitch. Whoever comes in needs to be of starting quality too, as Leeds’ current options, collectively, simply aren’t good, or numerous, enough.
