Leeds United suffered disappointment towards the end of the Championship season as their playoff charge was halted with a poor run of results which saw them slip away from the top six chase.
Manager Garry Monk delivered though on the whole in his first season in charge at Elland Road, and he will be hoping to press on ahead next season and secure a top six spot at the bare minimum for Leeds.
The Leeds fans are always a rowdy lot when they come into the Tavern, and this week they have been in here talking about what could be a massive summer ahead of another tough Championship campaign.
One player though who Leeds and Monk could make a move for is current Cardiff City midfielder Anthony Pilkington, who has once again proved himself to be one of the best attacking midfielders in the league.
Valued at just £2.13m by website Transfermarkt, Pilkington could be the ideal signing for the Whites and add something which was perhaps missing this season throughout the squad.
His ability to pop up with all important goals, versatility across the attacking midfield positions, as well as his experience and know-how at this level make him an ideal signing for any club looking to secure promotion.
Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock will no doubt want to keep hold of Pilkington, but he would definitely represent an excellent capture for Leeds should they choose to move for him.
Leeds fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
